So I apologize for my lack of activity on this here blog over the past week and a half. A final review combined with a grad school basketball tournament and the obligatory post-review celebratory drinking have made it difficult to put a coherent musical thought together. That and for about a week straight, I’ve listened to nothing but that live Ride album Scott posted and Pavement’s Brighten The Corners Nicene Creedence Reissue (both amazing albums), so things haven’t been all that varied anyway. Since I think most of Team Slayer has heard Brighten The Corners proper (and it’s been a while since a Pavement tune was posted), here’s a live cut from the extended reissue called “The Classical”. Not many bands can pull this kind of nonchalance off so convincingly. If I had a basement, I’d be down there right now slurring “I never felt better in my life” at the top of my lungs. Catharsis at its best.
