SotW: “Born of Frustration”

Just a short post today. It’s Friday finally, and I’m in dire need of a beer and some ear fodder heavy on the vocal acrobatics. In this department, few tracks hold a candle to the scatacular majesty of James’ “Born of Frustrations” off the band’s 1992 effort Seven. Tim Booth’s nigh unmatched ability to make complete asses out of would-be karaoke stars is here again on full display. Seriously, though, what is it about James’ songs that make them seem so pull off-able after just a couple drinks?  It doesn’t matter that you know all the words, your voice is NOT good enough to sing “Laid.” I actually have that written on a small scrap of paper in my wallet as a precautionary measure. And there have been some close calls….
