So I thought for today I’d keep the electronica rolling, but trade in µ-Ziq’s headphones mindtrip for something a bit more danceable care of trip-hop remixers par excellence Kruder & Dorfmeister—perhaps not the best backtrack to modeling, Matt, but I’m thinking ideal for the post-studio cool down. K&D’s ridiculous mastery of the rhythm section, from the impossible intricacy of their layered beats to the acid-drenched groove of their downtempo bass lines, is obviously taken in a completely different direction from the avant-garde thrash of Aphex et al., but demonstrates that same sick genius for space and timing, even while incorporating a much more organic feel to their overall sound. Anyhoo, here are a couple of my favorites, both remixes, the first off electro-dub nonpareil, 1998’s The K&D Sessions, the second off the group’s 1996 entry to the K7 DJ-Kicks series. Drink and be refreshed.

Hey man, anything with a strong beat is most def modeling material. Likin’ it.
Also, those guys look so cool. Laszlo Toth should definitely give up pop for trip-hop on one album just to take a few promotional images like that.
Great idea, Matt. Do you want to be the short, dark-haired one or the tall blond?
