This afternoon I had the pleasure of taking in the Wolverines final home game of the season. Things obviously could have gone much better, and I think at least partially to blame is the less than stellar selection of piped in music the Michigan faithful are currently subjected to. While the Big House was mercifully devoid of all Drowning Pool or Disturbed tunes today, we still had slog through the same tired assembly of Journey and Neil Diamond tracks. Such hackneyed anthems may cut it for the Buckeyes, but Ann Arbor’s young, hip power couples (me, Denard Robinson) demand a bit more élan when it comes to our pump-upage. With that in mind, here are some playlist ideas for when the offense is going all shred-core—up tempo numbers, and each tailor made for the Wolverines high octane ground assault.
Archers of Loaf – Worst Defense
Bruce Springsteen – Born to Run
Sonic Youth – Bull in the Heather
Pavement – Rattled by the Rush
Kitchens of Distinction – Drive That Fast
Anyhoo, further suggestions are most welcome, and I’m hoping Matt will tackle [bam!] a few choice cuts for the defensive side of things.
